2025 is off to a great start as The Tswyza Show and Telkom announced their duet on a fresh content collab. So, let’s get the 411 on what this is all about.
Who is Tswyza? – Meet the man behind the mic
Kope ‘Tswyza’ Makgae is a multitalented, Limpopo-born entrepreneur and entertainer who’s no stranger to the limelight. South Ahs will know and love him from fan-favourite shows such as Generations: The Legacy, Isidingo and telenovela iNKaba, and as the host of reality dating show S'jola Sonke.
Throughout his career, Tswyza has embraced the hustle, even selling kotas in high school to help fund his studies. Music, and especially the rhymes and lyrical flow of hip-hop, has always been his passion, and this set the stage for his podcast, The Tswyza Show.
Tswyza has always been into hip-hop, but what cemented it was a trip to the US in the early 90s with his mother. The fashion, music and culture of the time have been a constant inspiration since.
Mindset is everything
Being in the arts and media industry has thrust him into the spotlight, but for Tswyza it’s always been about his love for entertaining his fans, rather than playing the fame game.
He captured his feelings perfectly on Facebook:
“I've got more losses than wins
More attempts than opportunities
More risks than comforts
I’m a good guy and I work hard
I deserve everything coming my way
I use my time & relationships wisely,
I celebrate myself.”

Big-name guests – Who’s been on the show?
Some of the big-name artists who’ve featured on his podcast are rappers iFani Haymani and Nomfundo Yekani and writer Kane Keid.
