Want to make your next trip unforgettable? We chatted to seasoned jet-setters Rego and Dise about their best travel experiences, biggest travel tips, and top hacks to use tech cleverly to make travel super fun. Let’s go!

After travelling the globe, what’s their favourite destination?

It’s all about the next adventure. Rego and Dise have experienced some of the best tourist spots around the world.

Curious about their favourite destination? For Rego, it’s definitely Paris.

“Paris is beautiful. We went there in the summertime. And we went because of Disney World,” she shares, adding that it was a dream come true for her.

“We were celebrating my birthday. It was 30 years of Disney at the time, and I was turning 30. That’s why it’s a special place for me.” Now that’s serendipity!

For Dise, one favourite destination is the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, which they visited on his birthday.

“It was a dream come true for me,” shares Dise, because of his love and passion for Real Madrid football club since he was a teenager.

And their craziest adventure? It’s a no-brainer.

“We skydived in Dubai. The view is stunning. What an epic, epic, epic adventure. I highly recommend it.”

The fun-loving couple have plenty of stories to share from their travels around the globe, including the time their Italian hotel did not pass the vibe check.

“It’s funny now, but it wasn’t funny back then,” says Rego.

“We booked a three-star hotel. When we got there, the first thing we noticed was that the elevators were quite tiny. We had big suitcases and were trying to fit into this lift, but we were struggling to squeeze ourselves in.”

“It was an old-school kind of lift, right?” chips in Dise, laughing.

“But it gets worse. Now we're up on our floor, and it’s very dark. We're wondering why the lights are off. Is it loadshedding?! No, it's not. So, we step out, and then the lights go on. Oh, it’s motion sensors”.

“But then we noticed a chair in the middle of the hallway. No one was sitting on it. We needed to pass it to get to our room”. “It was creepy. We’ve watched horror movies before, and it felt like one. And, of course, the floors were wooden, so you could just hear the creaks. Seriously, what is going on?”

“The room was tiny, and the walls were so thin you could hear murmurs from our neighbours. We ended up checking out.”

Their must-have travel app?

Definitely Instagram. It’s where you can capture your on-the-go, real-time content and stories. It’s a great way to update your audience or loved ones, keeping them in the loop.

Their essential travel tech list

“Speaking of bank cards, just make sure that you tell your bank that you are travelling in advance. Some banks need you to notify them of your travel plans so that your international card activity will go smoothly, and won’t be flagged as potential fraud.”

What about travelling with a family?

The happy couple are proud parents of 8-month-old Kgosi, with whom they look forward to experiencing as much of the world as possible. The trick is to find activities that the whole family will enjoy.

“I no longer need an excuse to go to Disneyland,” jokes Rego.

“He's adding a whole new dynamic to our adventures, and we are now more eager to travel to different destinations and try out new activities. Even though he's still young, we are more open to the possibilities of travelling with a child. And we can’t wait for when he is older and he can share his stories of adventure with his younger siblings. We'll be able to go back and relive it all and maybe, who knows, say, ‘let’s go back’.”
