As the second half of 2024 dawns, the halls here at Telkom are alive with the energy of opportunity and optimism. We’re celebrating a landmark milestone – 20-million mobile customers who’ve chosen us to help them say their first hello every day.

To celebrate this 20-million mobile milestone, we chatted to Lunga Siyo, CEO of Consumer and Small Business at Telkom, to see what this all means.

Why is this 20-million milestone so important?

It demonstrates our commitment to growth and customer satisfaction, and it reflects the trust our customers have in our brand.

Where do you think this trust has been built?

We’ve put a lot of effort into improving our customer experience by investing in our network, enhancing our product offerings, and transforming our digital services to provide better value. We’re also focusing on delivering exceptional and seamless customer service experiences across all touchpoints: web, app, messaging platforms, stores, and contact centres.

What investments have you made to improve Telkom’s network?

It takes continual investment in our network’s infrastructure to ensure reliability, speed, and coverage. Over the past year, we’ve invested R2.6-billion in mobile network improvements and upgrades, and our future plans will further strengthen our network to enhance customer satisfaction.

How does Telkom plan to stay competitive in the future?

Telkom constantly pushes boundaries and disrupts the status quo with innovative products and competitive strategies. Our aim is to challenge market norms and provide unique value propositions to our customers.

The Telkom brand is getting stronger and stronger – we’re a competitive outfit and we’ve earned our stripes. We’ll continue to offer our customers efficient and innovative data propositions, by expanding our service portfolio, and investing in digital transformation to enhance their experiences.
